Tis the season for some holiday fun!

Who says you can’t have snow in Florida? On December 17^th, the Harmony Town Square will be turned into a Winter Wonderland for the 4^th Annual Winter Carnival. This celebration of winter will be complete with a snow slide, craft and food vendors, competitions, and, of course, Old Kris Kringle himself. All children will have the opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him their Christmas wishes!

Saturday morning will kick off with Breakfast with Santa at 9AM, followed by the opening of the Carnival at 10AM and will run until 2PM. This is a fun and free event for families both in Harmony and in the surrounding area.

This year’s festival will also feature giant snow globe, a Build-A-Bear workshop station, little kid bounce houses, big kid obstacle course, a rock climbing wall, face painting, a candy cane hunt, crafts,  and live entertainment. There will also be some fun competitions for everyone to participate in, so be sure to bring your A-Game and Ugly Sweaters!

This year’s competition schedule will be:

10:30—Ugly Sweater Contest

11:30—Ice Frozen T-Shirt Contest

12:45—Ice Cream Eating Contest

1:30—Cookie Cake Walk

And the Entertainment will include:

10:00—Carnival Opens

11:00— Najorka Performance Horses Show

12:00— Osceola Community Choir

1:00—Candy Cane Hunt

There will also be a DJ playing holiday favorites throughout the event.

The signature attraction of this event, our 10-tons of snow, will be split into a Big Kid and Little Kid area, so everyone gets to have a good time. Of course, kids of all ages are welcome to join in!

Harmony is very excited about this event and cannot wait for it to come! We hope you will all come out and join us for Breakfast with Santa and the Winter Carnival. If you have any questions regarding the Winter Carnival email the Harmony Activities Staff at activities@harmonyfl.com.

And don’t forget about our annual Home Decorating Contest! Deck the halls and pull out all the stops, because this is something not to be missed. First place will be awarded $150 and a trophy, second place will win $100, and third place will win $50. And all three will win bragging rights for the holiday season. Judging will take place on December 15^th or 16^th, so decorate your home today!

Join the Town of Harmony as they host a charity poker Tournament forthe American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.  The Tournament is Friday, April 29th at 7:00pm.  Cost is $25.00 a person with all proceeds going to the Relay For Life happening in Harmony on May 6th, 2011.
